Aerosole-untimely refund after product return

May 7, 2008 - Today

I ordered online from this company, Aerosole. I returned the shoes they sent me immediately. On May 12th, I called their Customer Service, who reported that the shoes had arrived at the local post office the previous weekend (May 10-11). They told me it would take three or four days to process my return money (which had been debited from my bank account and should be easy to return, since it was an electronic process that can take place within seconds).

Today is May 29th, and the money has still not been credited to my bank account. The corporation, therefore, is keeping my money for their own use. When I make a purchase, the money is IMMEDIATELY deducted from my bank account. Hoqwever, when I purchase a produce from Aerosoles, electronically, they keep my money--making interest on it or using it to purchase product--while I wait the return of my own funds, which they guarantee.

The Senate should take immediate action to require companies that are paid electronically to credit a customer with a return fee within 48-hours of receiving a return product. In the case of Aerosoles, the box contains a bar code, so an agent has only to swipe label, and the customer information-- including that required to credit a consumer with the return funds she is due--should be immediately returned.

It should be illegal to keep funds for weeks after a product has been returned. This is extremely poor policy, and I suggest that any consumers NOT purchase from Aerosoles online.
